At Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary we are united... in challenging students to reach their fullest potential in a safe, positive, and caring environment, which is conducive to teaching and learning.
Our school’s motto is “For the Love of Learning.” The faculty and staff are committed to provide an educational climate, which challenges students to achieve. Various programs and projects are in place to assist us in developing skills and attitudes, which will encourage our students to participate in and contribute to a democratic society.
The Marilyn Hughes Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the life of Marilyn Hughes and to continue her legacy of excellence in education. This annual scholarship will benefit a high school senior who attended Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary School, a school where Mrs. Hughes served as Assistant Principal.
For over half a century, Marilyn Hughes made a difference in the lives of many. Through individual and business contributions, this scholarship will continue to help her influence touch the lives of children and young adults for years to come.
