Dr. Danielle Brewer - Superintendent, Marion County Public Schools
Dr. Danielle Brewer serves as Superintendent of Marion County Public Schools, bringing more than 20 years of experience in public education and a steadfast commitment to student success. Known for her collaborative leadership style, she believes strong schools are built through strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
Dr. Brewer began her career with Marion County Public Schools in 2005 and has served as a teacher, academic coach, dean, assistant principal, principal, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Digital Learning, and Senior Executive Director of High Schools and Secondary Curriculum. These experiences provided her with a deep understanding of the district and the needs of students, educators, and families.
As Superintendent, Dr. Brewer has focused on strengthening student outcomes through clear goals, aligned systems, and a culture of accountability and support. She helped lead the development of Forward Together, the district’s 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, which emphasizes attendance, high-quality instruction, and data-informed decision-making. Under her leadership, Marion County Public Schools began the 2026–2027 school year with no schools earning a D or F grade for the first time since 2012.
A passionate advocate for Career and Technical Education, advanced academics, and workforce readiness, Dr. Brewer champions opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, military service, and life. Her doctoral research examined how advanced academic programs can expand postsecondary success and help break cycles of poverty.
Committed to continuous professional learning and leadership development, Dr. Brewer is a graduate of Leadership Florida Education Class 10 and an active participant in the Florida Association of District School Superintendents (FADSS), including its Chief Executive Officer Leadership Development Program. She also supports leadership development through the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA) and believes sustainable improvement depends on building the capacity and confidence of leaders at every level.
Beyond her district responsibilities, Dr. Brewer serves and collaborates with several community organizations, including United Way of Marion County, Public Education Foundation of Marion County, Children’s Alliance of Marion County, and the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP). Through these partnerships, she works to strengthen educational opportunities, support families, and advance the long-term success of Marion County.
Dr. Brewer holds degrees from Saint Leo University and earned both an Education Specialist degree and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from National Louis University. She and her husband, Jeff, are proud parents of four Marion County Public Schools graduates and strong advocates for public education.
