ELEMENTARY STUDENTS SET TO SHINE THIS WEEK

AT THIRD ANNUAL STEAM SHOWCASE

         

MARION COUNTY – Hundreds of elementary students will strut their science knowledge this week, trying to capture awards in the third annual Elementary STEAM Showcase at Forest High School.

 

The event takes place Thursday, February 13, inside the school’s gymnasium.  Students’ projects focus on STEAM-related concepts representing Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. 

 

Students representing all public elementary schools in Marion County are participating, including grades 3-5 in both individual and group categories.

 

The public can view student projects from 4:30PM-5:30PM that day followed by an awards ceremony at 6PM in the FHS auditorium. First, second, and third-place medals will be handed out for Life Science, Earth/Space Science, Physical Science – Matter, Physical Science – Energy, Math/Technology/Engineering, and Behavioral Science.

 

Forest High School is located at 5000 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala, 34480.
