STEM FAIR

STARTS TOMORROW

MARION COUNTY – Hundreds of students compete head-to-head during the Big Springs Regional STEM Fair taking place tomorrow (February 7) with awards handed out on Friday (February 8).

The event takes place at On Top of the World’s Circle Square Cultural Center located at 8395 SW 80 St. in Ocala. The public can view these projects free of charge on Thursday from 11:30AM – 1:15PM.

The annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fair draws students from Marion and Sumter Counties, each displaying their own unique science projects.  Individual winners from public, private, charter, and home schools advance to this regional level, with several dozen awards handed out in various categories.

Judging takes place Thursday with winners announced Friday at a 7PM awards ceremony in the Browne Greaton Cole Auditorium at Marion Technical Institute located at 1614 SE Ft. King St. in Ocala.

Regional winners advance to the Florida State Science Fair in Lakeland, March 26-28.  High School students selected as the top state winners then advance to the International Science Fair in Phoenix taking place May 12-17.
