SCHOOL CHOICE WINDOW OPENS

MARION COUNTY – Parents may apply for their children to attend schools outside their zoned area through an online School Choice process starting today.

School Choice offers students multiple options including magnet schools, career academies, and special Choice options.

The deadline to submit applications and supporting documentation for School Choice is January 31, 2019 at noon.

Valid out-of-area reassignment reasons include safety, medical necessity, and professional courtesy.  All reassignments depend on space availability and proper documentation of eligibility requirements.

Students who received a placement for magnet schools, career academies, or controlled open enrollment for this current school year are not required to resubmit a transfer request for next school year; however, students with other category reassignments must resubmit their requests annually.

Online access is available by visiting www.marionschools.net/schoolchoice.  This page links to www.applytomarionschools.com, a secured page to submit identifying information.

For assistance, call 352.671.7743 or contact the School Choice and Student Assignments Office of Marion County Public Schools located at 1614 East Fort King Street in Ocala.
