SCHOOL BOARD TEMPORARILY ADOPTS

NEW MEETING TIME TO ATTRACT

MORNING AUDIENCE

MARION COUNTY – In an effort to foster more community input and participation in its public meetings, the Marion County School Board will hold its second meeting of the month at 9 a.m. through September 2022.

The School Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. The first monthly meeting remains at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Browne Greaton Cole Auditorium at Marion Technical Institute (MTI) located at 1614 E. Fort King Street in Ocala.

School Board members discussed the four-month pilot project for several weeks and formally approved the change at its May 10 meeting.

The School Board’s updated Tuesday meeting schedule looks like this:

• June 28 @ 9 a.m.
• July 12 @ 5:30 p.m.
• July 21 @ 11:30 a.m. - Special Budget Meeting
• July 26 @ 9 a.m.
• August 2 @ 5 p.m. - Special Budget Meeting
• August 9 @ 5:30 p.m.
• August 23 @ 9 a.m.
• September 9 @ 5:15 p.m. - Special Budget Meeting
• September 13 @ 5:30 p.m.
• September 27 @ 9 a.m.

School Board work sessions are not impacted by this project and remain on alternating Thursdays at 9 a.m. in the same MTI location.
