Leadership MCPS Accepting Applications for
Inaugural Class
MARION COUNTY – Marion County Public Schools is accepting applications for Class I of the Leadership MCPS program.
Leadership MCPS is a new district program of eight monthly sessions providing opportunities for community members to learn what it takes to educate 43,000 students each school day while better understanding the support operations happening behind the scenes of Marion County classrooms.
Sessions will be held at different school facilities each month covering a wide variety of topics including the concepts of how we teach and how students learn, School Choice, creating and supporting a safe and positive learning and working environment, Exceptional Student Education, transporting and feeding tens of thousands of students daily, and how business partners and volunteers help meet critical needs throughout the district.
To apply, complete the application available at www.marionschools.net/Page/93329 and email it to Lauren.Debick@marion.k12.fl.us by Jan. 31. MCPS employees are not eligible for Leadership MCPS.
Confirmation of acceptance into Class I will be made in early February with the first session set for Feb. 25. A one-time enrollment fee of $250 is required for those accepted and covers expenses including breakfast and lunch during session dates.
