COMMUNITY CAN AGAIN EVALUATE NEW
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING CURRICULUM
MARION COUNTY – For the second time this school year, Marion County Public Schools seeks public input to help evaluate a new social emotional learning curriculum for elementary students.
The district offered two information sessions in December and has now added a third – Tuesday, February 16, from 4PM-7PM in Building 2 on the Marion Technical Institute (MTI) campus located at 1614 SE Fort King Street in Ocala. Anyone wanting to review the curriculum may attend this session which was added at the request of School Board members.
Social emotional learning curriculum provides younger students with the knowledge and skills to better understand each other and communicate with others. New curriculum is being considered following a Marion County School Board decision to eliminate the previously-used curriculum.
For more information, contact the Mental Health Services Department of Marion County Public Schools at 352.671.7184.
