TOMORROW’S DEADLINE:

FACE-TO-FACE OR ONLINE LEARNING

MARION COUNTY – Parents and their students in Marion County have until 10AM tomorrow to choose between face-to-face and online learning for the new school year starting Monday.

If no choice is provided, enrollment defaults to traditional face-to-face learning.

Earlier today, Marion County School Board members agreed to the hard cutoff so schools can better prepare for opening day.  After 10AM tomorrow, the district will put a moratorium on changes for two weeks so schools can stabilize student enrollments and class schedules.

The original deadline was extended earlier this summer as a courtesy for families to explore both traditional face-to-face and MCPSonline learning.

The district expects upwards of 30,000 students, or about 70 percent of total enrollment, to show up for face-to-face classes starting Monday. The remaining 13,000 students will attend MCPSonline classes.  As a reminder, parents made choices based on a nine-week commitment.
