Hammett L. Bowen Jr. Elementary School is concerned about safety - bus safety, parking lot safety, playground safety, grounds safety, and personal safety. Please don't be offended if we ask you to park in a different location, walk inside the crosswalk, or show a picture ID when picking up a child. We all have to show our children we are concerned about safety issues.

Additionally, parents are not allowed to walk their children to class in the morning or pick them up at the classroom at the end of the school day. Walkers who are met by parents are to be picked up at the west side of the school on the sidewalk area and must have a school issued card with them in order to get their child. Parents must remain in the car line with a school-issued pick-up card visible through their front windshield. These cards are available at the front desk.

Parents, this is just a reminder that students can arrive at 7:20 AM. We are serving breakfast until 7:40 AM. Those who arrive after that will not be able to eat breakfast, so please be on time. Students who are car riders in the afternoon need to be picked up no later than 2:35 PM. Thank you again for your assistance.
