Marion School Closures Extended Through Friday Due to Hurricane Ian

MARION SCHOOL CLOSURES EXTENDED
THROUGH FRIDAY DUE TO HURRICANE IAN
MARION COUNTY – Marion County Public Schools extended its closures through Friday because of anticipated severe weather from Hurricane Ian.
The closures are district-wide and affect all schools, departments, and district offices. MCPS employees should check their email accounts for make-up days later this school year.
At 5 p.m. today, West Port High School (3733 SW 80 Ave., Ocala, 34481) opens as a special needs shelter. At noon Wednesday, the following schools open as general needs shelters:
- Belleview Middle (10500 SE 36 Ave., Belleview, 34420)
- Dunnellon High (10055 SW 180 Ave. Rd., Dunnellon, 34432)
- Fort McCoy School (16160 NE CR 315, Fort McCoy, 32134)
- Hammett Bowen Jr. Elementary (4397 SW 95 St., Ocala, 34476)
- North Marion Middle (2085 W. County Rd. 329, Citra, 32113)
- Vanguard High (pet friendly; 7 NW 28 St., Ocala, 34475)
