20% FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS: * spelling / letter, word, or sentence dictation assessments * Fry /Dolch Word Assessments (oral or written) * evaluations of standard mastery * phonics evaluations * Reading Fluency Checks / passages * multisyllabic word decoding * Fluency (or other approved Literacy Program assessments)
40% COMPREHENSION: * Text analysis / comprehension evaluations * Vocabulary assessments * Comprehension / text analysis assessments * Evaluation of Florida Standards (Comprehension Based using various methods).
40% COMMUNICATION: * Rubric based writing assignments (can be from content area projects) * Compositions / writer's responses / journals * Research activities / book reports * Presentations / oral reports or recitations * Conversational skills / etiquette * Note Taking * Penmanship / handwriting * Individual or small group projects * Technology usage in communicating * Listening tasks * Grammar tasks
60% PERFORMANCE BASED TASKS/ASSESSMENTS: *Including, but not limited to: Social Studies Projects (individual or group) (rubrics should be used in this scoring) * Presentations on specific topics * Teacher designed assessments based on the NGSSS for the specific grade level * DBQ Performance Tasks/Writing Assignments
40% CLASSWORK/PARTICIPATION: **Including, but not limited to: Quizzes * Dramatizations * Research activities for presentations * Projects (individual components) * Daily assignments * Activities (several suggested on the new Social Studies maps) * DBQ Activities * Scale reflection, goal setting
