PUBLIC INVITED TO VIEW POTENTIAL NEW TEXTBOOKS AND SUBMIT FEEDBACK

MARION COUNTY – With Marion County Public Schools adopting new curriculum materials for K-12 English Language Arts, public input can be offered during an open review night scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.

That afternoon and early evening, members of the public can physically review potential curriculum materials being considered by the district adoption review committees for next school year.

The 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. session takes place in Building 20 located at 392 SE 19 Ave., Ocala, 34471, on the Bridgeway Academy campus.

The process already involves parents, teachers, and community members reviewing instructional materials.  Course-specific committees can involve up to 15 voting members and one non-voting chair including the content area program specialist, up to eight teachers, two parents, and five community members appointed by the Marion County School Board.

Following this public viewing, review committee members will consider public input at their meeting set for Nov. 10, 2025 at 6 p.m. at Bridgeway Academy, Building 2, Room 08 for grades Kindergarten-2; Room 14 for grades 3-5; Room 29 for grades 6-8; and Room 32 for grades 9-12. Bridgeway Academy is located at 1614 East Fort King Street in Ocala.

Committee members will also vote to recommend titles to the interim superintendent, who then advances recommendations to the Marion County School Board.

For more information, contact the Instructional Materials Department of Marion County Public Schools at 352.236.0525.
