MEETINGS SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF FORMER SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE
MARION COUNTY – The future of the former district office of Marion County Public Schools is the topic of two upcoming meetings to be held in Ocala.
The former district office building, located at 512 SE Third Street in Ocala, is also known as the former Central Elementary School.
The building closed in December 2022 due to facility and environmental concerns identified at the site.
The Marion County School Board is considering selling the building and property, and public meetings may help gauge community sentiment about the property’s future.
Two meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., both in the Browne Greaton Cole Auditorium located at 1614 E. Fort King St. in Ocala.
The public is welcome to attend and offer input on the future of the former district office (Central Elementary School).
