MARION SUPERINTENDENT APPOINTED TO UCF’S CENTER FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

MARION COUNTY – Dr. Diane Gullett, the superintendent of Marion County Public Schools (MCPS), has been named to the board of directors of the Center for Community Schools at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

The prestigious appointment means Gullett can directly impact the program enhancing educational opportunities and strengthening community partnerships with the school district.

MCPS has two Community Partnership schools – College Park and East Marion Elementary Schools. Both benefit from on-campus collaborations with community organizations to help students thrive both academically and socially.

UCF’s Center for Community Schools promotes the development and expansion of schools with academic support, health services, mentoring, and community engagement to help students and their families succeed.

Gullett’s experience in education leadership will bring insight to the board's mission to foster positive academic outcomes and community involvement in schools.
