SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS TAKE OATHS,

ELECT CONRAD AND CUMMINGS TO LEAD

 MARION COUNTY –Two re-elected Marion County School Board members took their oaths of office this morning in the School Board chambers located at 1614 E. Fort King St. in Ocala in a ceremony available on the Marion County Public Schools YouTube channel.

District 1’s Dr. Allison Campbell is now in her second four-year term after taking her oath of office from her son, Cade, while her son, Connor, held a Bible that belonged to her grandmother. Campbell’s oldest son, Cole, and husband, Andy, were also on stage for the occasion.

Campbell represents Eighth Street, Greenway, Shady Hill, South Ocala, and Wyomina Park Elementary Schools; Madison Street Academy; Osceola Middle; Forest and Lake Weir High Schools; and Marion Technical Institute.

Voters re-elected Campbell back in August, along with District 2’s Lori Conrad, who is now in her first four-year term after completing a two-year special term.

Conrad took her oath of office from longtime family friend, Sean Jackson, while her daughter, Hannah, held the Bible for her.

Conrad represents Belleview Elementary, Middle, and High Schools; Belleview-Santos, Emerald Shores, Harbour View, Legacy, and Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary Schools; Marion Charter School; and Lake Weir Middle School.

Once seated, the new School Board of Marion County, Florida, elected Conrad as its chair for the next year and Eric Cummings as the vice-chair, a position he previously held.
