MARION COUNTY – Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) kicks off a new year of Family Leadership Council meetings and events Thursday evening, Aug. 22.

That’s the first meeting date for the Family Leadership Council, a group designed to engage in advocacy for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and multilingual learners. The group also provides an intentional community for parents and caregivers to offer feedback.

The Council’s meeting takes place from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in Building 2 on the Marion Technical Institute (MTI) campus located at 1614 E. Fort King St. in Ocala.

Additional meetings are set for Oct. 10, Feb. 6, and May 8, same time and location.

As well, the Council presents a Family Learning Night on Nov. 14, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., and a Multicultural Fair on April 17, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Both events offer free admission and are open to the public.
