MARION COUNTY — It’s Day One for Marion County Public Schools’ new superintendent, and Dr. Danielle Brewer is already connecting with staff, students, and the community.

Brewer officially stepped into the district’s top leadership role after serving as interim superintendent since April 2025. On Tuesday evening, Marion County School Board members unanimously approved a two-year contract appointing her as superintendent.

Brewer becomes the second appointed—and fourth female—superintendent in Marion County Public Schools’ 157-year history.

She began her MCPS career as a classroom teacher on August 1, 2005, and steadily advanced through the district, serving as an assistant principal and principal, including most recently at North Marion High School. In 2021, she was named director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Digital Learning, and two years later became senior executive director of High Schools and Secondary Curriculum.

Brewer holds academic degrees in Criminal Justice and Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University, as well as an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from National Louis University, where she also earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership.
