At East Marion our mission is to provide an environment which ensures quality learning conditions for our children within a nurturing, safe environment. East Marion staff members will actively engage all students in the learning process and teach students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers and life-long learners.
Parents we need your help:
I encourage you to be involved in your child’s education. Consider helping your child daily by: setting aside 2O minutes a day for reading a book of their choice; communicating with the teacher (s); and insuring your children get to school on time every day.
East Marion will provide your child with an agenda planner or a Nikky folder that when used appropriately, will serve as an easy yet effective way to promote positive communication. The planner will help students become more organized and will allow important communication related to classroom assignments, progress in academic areas, upcoming classroom events, and notes from the teacher on a daily basis. Please remember that daily assignments should be found in your student’s agenda planner and on a teacher’s website. We encourage you to check out the resources offered by each of your student’s teachers.
The parent portal offers an opportunity to view your student’s grades at your convenience. You can now address your student’s progress as soon as work is graded and posted to the teacher’s gradebook. Please check your child’s grades regularly on the Parent Portal. This is a great tool for tracking your child’s progress. If you are not signed up for the Parent Portal please do so at the Open House on September 7th.
