  • I'm excited to work with you and your child this school year!  If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please contact me and I will get back with you as quickly as possible.  I utilize Bloomz on a regular basis to update you on what's happening in our classroom.  Please visit Bloomz at least once a day to get the latest up-to-date information throughout the year. Please use the following link to access our class's Bloomz page:  Bloomz.  They have an app that you can download on your devices as well.  Please use the code I send to you to sign up.  Email will also be used as an additional communication tool.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I will not be utilizing daily folders.  Graded papers will be sent home in your child's backpack at least once each week and digital work that's been graded will be returned to you on Microsoft Teams throughout the school year (when Microsoft Teams is used).  Please make sure your child reads for at least 20 minutes every night.  This can be done on MyOn, Follett Shelf, the Public Library Online, or reading actual books you have at home.  Bloomz will be used to help you to track your child's behavior each school day.  Please log into Skyward on a regular basis to keep track of your child's grades throughout the school year.  You can either access this through your child's student portal or through your own parent portal access.  If you don't have parent access, please contact our school's guidance office to set up an appointment by calling (352)671-0800.

    Second Interruption

    Google Classroom

    Microsoft Teams and Zoom

I will be using Microsoft Teams if we experience a second interruption at some point during the school year.  Microsoft Teams is a part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite and is available on your child’s student portal.  This is how your child will be turning in their classwork during a second interruption, and at times I'll use it in my face-to-face classroom as well.  Any work done on Microsoft Teams in the classroom will be something students can complete independently, and it will be done while they're at school.  You can check your child’s assignments there and it will help you to keep track of some of the work they’ve finished. 😊  You can also download the program or app onto your devices if you would rather access it that way by clicking here.  If we experience a second interruption, your child can still complete their work on paper if needed and then you can take a picture of it and attach it to their assignment before turning it in.  All work completed in Microsoft Teams must be sent digitally in order for it to be graded.  I will be utilizing Microsoft Teams to meet face-to-face with my students throughout the school day if we move into a second interruption situation.  Our schedule will be the same as when we're in the classroom with the same amount of time spent with me for direct instruction.

I'll be using Zoom to hold parent conferences with you for both your safety and mine.  I will post my available conference times on Bloomz, so please sign up there.  Before our scheduled meeting I'll send you the information so you can join our meeting.  Please famiiarize yourself with how to use Zoom ahead of time.  You can join a meeting from either the internet or an app.  The app is available on all types of devices.
