  • Google Classroom

I recently created a Google Classroom account for assignments that were made by me using Google Slides, that way I can see their work and grade assignments as they're completed.  If you’re already utilizing Google Classroom for specials and would like to use it for our class as well, or if if you've never used it before but would like to try it out, you can check your child’s assignments there and it can help you to keep track of what work they’ve finished each week. 😊 As they complete their assignments, click the "Turn In" button so you can keep track of what assignments still need to be done.

Have your child log into Google using their school email address (firstname.lastname @marionstudents.net) and the password they use to log into their student portal.  PLEASE NOTE:  Make sure they're logging in their account and that they're not logged on as someone else who also has a Google account at home, otherwise their Google Classroom won't show up.  The assignments I created in Google Slides are already linked to the assignments when they log into Google Classroom, so no other work is necessary to complete those assignments!

    Office Hours

I will have office hours Mon.-Fri. from 10:00am-11:00am and from 1:00pm-2:00pm.  If you would like to leave me a message via Bloomz, phone call, or email, I will be checking it and answering you back during those times.  If your child has any questions about their schoolwork or if you just have a general question for me, please let me know.  The school's phone number is (352)671-0800.  If you choose to leave a message on my school voicemail I will be checking that from home so that I can get back with you.  If you’d like to reach me directly, please call the phone number I listed in the email I sent out to you (I posted it on Bloomz as well) during my office hours.  Please give me up to 24 hours to return your phone call, email, or message.  For technology questions, please call the “parent tech hotline” at (325) 867-2100 from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM.

    Assignments Each Week

**Please click on the "Assignments" link on the left side of this page to access your child's assignments for this week, or you can click HERE**

All assignments your child is expected to complete will be posted every Monday and they will be due no more than 7 days from the date they are assigned.  Your child will have three language arts assignments, three math assignments, one science assignment, and one social studies assignment each week.  Grades for their completed work and attendance will still be taken like normal, so it is very important that your child is participating in their distance learning everyday.

    Turning in Work

Microsoft Office 365 is available on your child’s student portal which can be used to help your child complete some of their schoolwork that would normally be done on paper.  They can still complete it on paper if they need to and then you can take a picture of it to send it to me, but no papers will be physically turned into me at all now or after we return to school.  Please send all work to me each week in either an email or a Bloomz message so that it can be graded.  No homework will be given during this time period.
