Hello Students and Families,

          My name is Cathy Griffin. I will be your/ your child’s Physical Science teacher. I teach 8^th grade and Honors (9^th grade) Physical Science courses. You can find my syllabi on my teacher webpage as well as in MS Teams.

          I truly hope you are all well and I look forward to seeing my students Monday. I love teaching and helping young people make sense of the world around them. My way is through my love of science. I hope to spark the passion I have for science in each of my students. I will do this through hands on and virtual labs and activities. This year will be a little different. I ask you to please be patient and flexible as we are all going on this journey together.

           The most important thing I need everyone’s help with is communication. If you have any questions or concerns, I would like to hear from you. If we work together as a team, we can make wonderful things happen for you/ your child’s education and future. The best way to get in touch with me is to send me an email. I will have office hours for you to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or just to check in. These hours are posted on this page. Please stick to these hours for contact via phone. If I miss your call, it is likely because I am speaking to another classmate or parent. Please leave your contact information and I will call you back.

           In addition, we will be working, collaborating, and meeting in Microsoft Teams even though we are meeting face-to-face.  If we shut down again, we will all be prepared to do everything in Teams and we will be familiar with the process. Please be patient and respectful of others during these meetings. They should be a fun and interactive way for us to work together. For items that you need to share or turn in, there are several free apps (such as Adobe Scan, Cam Scan) you can use to scan with a phone and email to me or upload into Teams.

           Our whole school has been working hard to help make this school year as normal of a school year as we can for you and your child’s educational experience and success.
