Welcome to third grade!  Your child will have two third grade teachers this year.  Mrs. Robertson will be teaching math and science.  Mrs. Hoekstra will be teaching language arts and social studies.  Team teaching is a teaching practice that allows us to work together in a way that will help us better meet the needs of ALL our students.

We are very excited to teach your child this year.  Third grade is a very busy year, filled with lots of fun and learning.  Mrs. Hoekstra and Mrs. Robertson will be working together to ensure that your child gets all the help and support they need in order to achieve academic success. Both of us believe that every student has different learning styles and needs.

            It is very important to us to have constant contact with all our parents.  We value parent involvement at every level.   To ensure a strong partnership we need to be able to communicate on a regular basis.

Distance Learning Update:  Your child needs to complete 46 minutes of IREADY in reading and math.  Class assignments will be uploaded in our new google classroom.  You child is able to access this through their student portal.  Paper copies of all work will be provided for those who are unable to complete work online.  I will be available to talk each day by phone from 8:00-9:00 and 1:00-2:00.  You may contact me Via Classroom DoJo or email at anytime.  

Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).  These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms.  If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
