Welcome to Mr. Kunz's History website for 6th, 7th & 8th grade Advanced History
As of May 22, 2020, there will be no more new assignments. You have until Monday - June 1 to finish all missing assignments. This gives you a little over a week to get everything turned in. let me know if you need my help. You can call or text me at (352) 897-0023. I will not be able to accept any work after that point. The school year will be over.
Attention 7th graders - Assessment #2 has been posted
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS - to prepare for progress reports, all missing grades have now been converted to "0%", This does not mean that these grades can not be changed. When you complete your work and turn it into Google Classroom, you will be given full credit for your work (THERE IS NO PENALTY FOR LATE WORK).
Also, many of you have turned in work outside of Google Classroom, I need all work to be submitted through Google Classroom, with the exception of those few of you that are working with paper packets.
If you see that I have made a mistake, simply notify me and I happily change your grade; furthermore, if you are unhappy with any grade you may correct your work and resubmit for full credit.
If you need my help you may contact me at (352) 897-0023
Attention 8th graders -
Rough Draft of paper - the week of Apr. 27
The rough draft may be submitted in outline form. The outline needs to include your opening and closing paragraphs. You should outline your arguments - bring in evidence from your research. This will be a 50 point Classwork grade.
Attention 7th graders - Lessons #4 & #5 have been posted
Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
We are going to need to work together to finish out the school year strong. I will do my best to make the material engaging, and you will need to do your best to be engaged in the classwork. This type of learning is new to all of us; therefore, at first, it will be clumsy and awkward, but we will learn how to learn together, as we have the entire school year. This means I need you to be involved, ask questions, participate, and be patient with me and your classmates. If you have thoughts or ideas how to make this process work better – please, make your suggestions known.
On this teacher website, I will be setting up tabs for each grade level. You will need to check often for assignments. We will be using different types of media to facilitate learning; however, this will be where you get assignments and directions. For the time being, assignments will be turned in through Google classrooms, which I am in the process of creating. We will be having grade level classroom discussion through Zoom, which will be a new experience for me and probably most of you. The times for these virtual classrooms will be posted under the tab for your grade level.
The first thing I would like each of you to do is email me with a confirmation that you have read this and you are ready for this new experiment in learning. Guys, this will be successful if we collectively make it so. One thing I know - you guys are brilliant and have a lot to offer to this adventure – SOOoooo…. , let’s make the most of learning together!
