     Welcome Letter

    Dear Parents

We are so excited to have your child in our classroom this year.  It is going to be a great year and  we are looking forward to a lot of exciting and fun activities as well as learning.  The curriculum for VPK is PreKindergarten Core Knowledge Language Arts and  Beyond Centers and Circle Time. This curriculum focuses in Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) and is align with the Florida Standards.

First, I want to thank you in advance for your support in helping to make your child's education a priority and know that I am available to you from 2:50 - 3:30 pm every day and of course if you ever need to schedule a conference.  Communication is the key to success for your child, so please feel free to send me notes or phone calls  when you feel I should know something concerning your child.  Also, if your child is absent, please send a note the next day.  Atttendance is very important to enhance your child's education and finally,  please make sure to send a towel or small blanket for your child to rest during nap time.  The towel will go home every Firday to be washed and should come back to school on Mondays.  Folders will also be going home on Fridays as well.

    Thank you for your support

    Sincerely

    Ms. Githens, Teacher

    Ms. Gordon, Teacher Assistant
