Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in small town Maine! We had one school, prek-8th grade, and NO traffic lights. For high school we picked a school in a neighboring community we wanted to attend. I grew up the daughter of a substitute teacher, and a truck driver. Hard work and determination was part of our every day life.
I graduated from the University of Maine, Machias in 2005. I started my career as a prek/k teacher and then in 2006 I moved (sight unseen) to Sebring, Fl where I worked in an elementary school. I taught grades 1,2,3, and 5 before moving to middle school to teacher 8th grade US History and 6th grade science. After teaching that for two years I moved to teaching ESE 8th grade, co-teaching ELA and Math and teaching a learning strategies class. I am VERY excited to now be part of the Forest High School Wildcat family and to be teaching speech, creative writing, learning strategies, and English 4.
I am a mother to a rambunctious and energetic three year old, wife to great chef and fabricator, and fur mom to two cats - Pickles and Peanut Butter. I have also trained for, and completed, many triathalons. I enjoy swimming, reading, and spending time with my loved ones.
I am very excited to be starting this year of teaching as part of the Forest High School wildcat family and I look forward to meeting all of you and making the 20/21 school year the best YET!
