    Belleview High School Syllabuls

    Course Description:

    Intensive reading is a course to help students master grade level standards. This course will emphasize reading comprehension, writing, and reading fluency. Throughout the year students will develop skill and strategies to use in the following areas:

    • Vocabulary/Spelling
    • Grammar
    • Comprehension of grade level reading materials
    • Using text evidence to support responses to text-based questions & more

    • 2 Composition Notebooks
    • 1 pack of extra-large index cards
    • 1 pack of colored pencils
    • Pen or pencils (NO MECHANICAL PENCILS)
    • Highlighter (ANY COLOR)

    Classroom Expectations:

    • Be Respectful: Profane language, or purposely hurtful comments or actions will not be tolerated.
    • Be Coorperative: Class participation is class activities either by discussion or activities. Listening while others are speaking.
    • Be Responsible: Be prepared for class. Finish any snacks and breverages BEFOR YOU ENTER THE CLASSROOM (Water only allowed in the classroom no exceptions, if this becomes an issue it will be discontinued, no sharing snacks or drinks with others.
    • Be Safe: In the classroom Face coverings are required we will have short mask breaks. Follow all directions and all safety rules.
