Visual Arts 2020-2021
Welcome to the 2020-21 school year. I am Ms. Hamilton and I am excited to be working with your child in art. This year we will be moving instruction to the Microsoft Teams Platform. Click on the links in the navigatin menu to the left for help with Teams.
Though this is my second year at East Marion Elementary, it is my 31st year as an Art Teacher. Students will learn the very basic elements of art and design through challenging art activities. They will work to solve these challenges creatively and in their own way. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to complete their work. I do however, expect to see them practice the concepts taught in class. I look forward to an exciting year filled with creativity.
With the challenges of staying safe that we face this year with Covid-19, there are a few supplies I encourage each student to have in their desks. There will be no sharing of supplies among students. Supplies issued by me will be sanitized before and after they are used. Please provide what you can and I will supplement what I can. If you are working at home, I have included all of the materials we plan to use this year. Lessons will include how to safely use all of these materials. Click on the supply link to the left for the list.
Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
For technical issues with school-distributed Chromebooks, users can call the Parent Service Desk Helpline at 352.867.2100. This helpline operates Monday–Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM (wait times can vary). Please note: technicians cannot resolve issues with Internet connections or student passwords.
