Mrs. Siefkes

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Siefkes

Hello to all!

I am a seasoned Autism Teacher with 15 years of experience coming to you from Kansas via Pennsylvania.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary from Friends University in Wichita, KS in May 2004; and my Master's Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA in January 2014.  I have only ever taught Special Education in my career with students ranging in age from 5 to 21.

I am the proud parent of a 13-year old Liberty Middle School Student - Kaylin; the wife of a loving Belleview Chiropractor - Dr. Craig; and the tolerated owner of a 5-year old Tux Cat named Luna.  We have been in the Ocala area since July 2019.

Our classroom will be set up in 3 different ways to help students and parents achieve success during this time.

1.  Online learning - Google Classroom - students and parents will be able to access the Google Classroom for all daily assignments and upload them when they are finished.

2.  Paper Packet - students and parents will be able to pick up a packet of the work for the week (same as on Classroom) at the school's front desk to work on.  Please take pictures of the completed work and upload either to my email account or to Class Dojo for a grade.

3.  Hybrid Model - students will be able to have Zoom rotations with staff from 8:30am to 10:10am daily that include the teaching of reading, math, science/social studies and social skills.  Students will need access to a laptop, iPad or iPhone with the Zoom app loaded onto it (free).  I will send invites to the student's email addresses for times and groups.

Helpful links:

Google Classroom - invites should be in student's email along with step by step PPT of how to get on the site.

Class Dojo - all parents should have received an invite to join.  If you have not or you need to add another number, please contact me via phone and I will get you added / readded.

Zoom - free downloadable app - sign up using the student's email address so that I'm able to invite the student to join meetings online.

Google Voice Number to Reach Me At Home - 1-352-462-2688 - there is voice mail if I'm not immediately available.

  • Please remember:

Zoom online meetings and rotations will start on Monday, April 6th at 8:30.  I have sent out a tentative schedule via Classroom Dojo for parents to view.  I will also send one to students email addresses.  Students will be able to interact with Mrs. Brooks for Math Remediation; Mrs. Bergman for Social Studies and Science Remediation; and with Mrs. Siefkes for Reading Comprehension and Social Skills (aka Tom and Tabby Time).  These will occur daily starting at 8:30am and go in 15 minute rotations with 5 minutes between each session for Zoom crossover times and any groups that might go a little late.  There will be one leisure time - this is for the students to take a break and relax during - not for academic work.  Social Skills will be a group lesson held at the end of our rotation time (9:50ish - 10:15ish).  Mrs. Boisvert, our behavioral specialist, will be joining us for that time to help with any concerns, questions or behavioral challenges you may be facing at home.

I am posting a message from Mrs. Boisvert here for your convienence:
