PAPER MATERIALS Are ready for pick up at school front carline by cafeteria doors.
Remember, if you are doing online assignments for us, the paper materials are just something tangible if you want them. If you are not doing online work, you will need to complete the work assigned, take pictures or scan, and email the completed work to either Mrs. Fried or Mrs. Smith. You can not turn this work in at the school.

ZOOM-Smith/Fried Weekly Wednesday "whatsup" meetings start this Wednesday! Check your REMIND and Google Classroom for meeting ID.
Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will be used for educational purposes only and may be shared on other platforms. If you do not want your child's image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.

Mrs. Leslie Smith
Welcome to 4th grade! I am excited to be your teacher for ELA and Social Studies this year! I am teaming with Mrs. Fried who will be teaching Math and Science.
I am originally from Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S in Human Ecology. I am currently working toward upgrading from a temporary teaching certificate to the permanent teaching certificate-yay! I have lived in Florida since 1994 and Ocala since 2005. I am married with two children. My daughter, Lexie, is attending her 2nd year at FSU and my son, Logan, is a junior dual-enrolled at Forest and CF. My husband, Clark, is in the golf business. I have worked in our family golf business and have also worked at Eighth Street Elementary for 5 years as a long term sub, RTI para, and in-house sub. I have spent time in all grade levels and also worked with small groups and interventions. I have been out of the school system for the past five years managing a golf course for the family, but am thrilled to be back with the kids teaching!
In my spare time, I enjoy visiting my daughter at college, watching her play tennis, going to my son's lacrosse games, shopping for great deals and reading with a good cup of coffee and going to the beach! :)
Parental involvement and support is the key to our student's success! If you haven't already noticed on this website site, I have a homework assignment posted for the PARENTS to do! I will have copies of the assignment at the orientation before school starts and sent home with your students if you were unable to make it for orientation. This is just a way for me to get your perspective of your child's personality, learning style, likes/dislikes. I will also be doing getting to know you activities with your children during the first week. The better I understand your child, the more successful we can be!
If you have any questions, please reach out to me and we can set up a time for a personal or phone conference if it is something that needs to go beyond a check-in email.
I look forward to meeting and speaking with everyone throughout the year! Go Mustangs!
