Hello Parents/Guardians and Students,
School restarts APRIL 1, 2020. We will be working, learning, and interacting strictly online until further notice. I am going to make myself available between 10 AM - 2 PM (Monday-Friday) for correspondence, and this is subject to change. I can be reached via REMIND App (Directions in Google Classroom under NEWS) during office hours or by email anytime at Anthony.Gilkes@marion.k12.fl.us
WE ARE USING GOOGLE CLASSROOM!
In an effort to make things as easy as possible, I have decided to use Google Classroom as the online learning platform. The nice thing about Google Classroom is all my students have accounts already and are familiar with it. Google Classroom also integrates with so many things including online textbooks, Khan Academy, DESMOS, and much more!
HOW DO I GET TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM?
Students can be automatically logged into Google Classroom or linked to it by logging into their MCPS Desktop and clicking the Google Classroom Tile/App (or search "Google" in the search bar). You can also login at https://classroom.google.com/ Your user name or email is the student email address, and the password should be the same password used to log into their MCPS Desktop/Skyward.
If you need them, below are the Google Classroom Codes by period.
(Only students with MarionStudents.net email can add themselves. I can add parents/guadians on request! Assignments for credit will still be posted on Skyward.)
1st Period - Lib Arts / Code#: xz5xeis
2nd Period - ALG 1 / Code#: 2zb6wcs
3rd Period - ALG 1 / Code#: 5nqja2o
4th Period - Lib Arts / Code#: l4wsfrj
5th Period - ALG 1 / Code#: cdnqluj
6th Period - Lib Arts / Code#: mnqcsa3
All detailed instructions and assignments are on Google Classroom. There will be daily posts that students must reply to each day for attendance.
