Hello, my name is Donna King. I have been a teacher for five years. This is my first year at Emerald Shores Elementary School. My goal as a teacher is to provide a unique and fun environment where each child may have the freedom to grow together as a family and as individuals.

My educational background is diverse and helps to provide the students with a well rounded or holistic approach to learning. I work hard to foster a love for learning with students and create a positive environment geared toward a growth mindset and collaborative learning.

As a child, I attended Maria Montessori school in Den Haag, Holland where I was exposed to a very creative and hands-on approach to learning. After moving back to the states I settled in Gainesville, Florida, my hometown.

For college, I attended Florida School of The Arts at Saint Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida. I earned my AA/AS Digital Imaging with Specialization in Photography. I worked as a Freelance Photographer for The Palatka Daily News during this time.

For my Bachelor's degree, I chose to continue pursuit of The Arts at Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida where I earned a BA in Graphic Design with a Minor in Advertising and a Minor in Business.

 I have a deep love for the pursuit of knowledge. I just began my Master's Program for Transformational Curriculum and Instruction with Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. I am set to complete the program in January of 2022.
