  • Dear Work Study Students & Families, 

    Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!  In adhering to the CDC guidelines, work study is going to look a little different this year.  Until further notice, students will not alternate their work locations between the Chick Inn and the barn.  This means that students on my roster will attend the barn for their work study location Monday through Friday.  Myself and my paraprofessional will wear a face shield while working at the barn, as well as students.  If your student does not want to/will not wear a face shield at this time, do not stress.  It is a skill we are going to work on.  Other skills will include wearing a face mask when maintaining social distancing is not possible, hand washing/personal hygiene and cleaning/disinfecting our personal work stations.  

    I am incorporating more digital instruction into my classroom this year.  Not only will this reduce the need for students to share materials, but it will also help prepare them in case of another school closure.  Each student will be assigned an iPad where they will complete their task boxes and N2Y activities/assignments.  Each student will have their own bottle of handsanitizer, box of tissues and set of school supplies (pencil, glue stick, scissors and crayons).

    Certain areas on school campus are now closed.  These include the sensory room (emergencies only), work shop, pre-voational kitchen, life center, and fitness room.  The cafeteria is closed, so breakfast and lunch will occur in the classroom.  CBI is also closed until further notice.  

    Our Classroom Supply List is as follows:

    Work-Study

    • 2 pairs of jeans
    • 2 pairs of boot socks

    PE

    • 1 change of clothes (top, bottom, underwear)
    • 1 towel 
    • 1 swimsuit
    • 1 pair of flip-flops or water shoes

    Classroom

    • 2 bottles of hand sanitizer
    • 2 boxes of disinfectant wipes
    • 2 tissue boxes
    • 2 reams of white paper
    • 1 reusable water bottle - all water foutains on campus are closed until further notice
