    Intensive Reading

    Course Description: 

    Intensive reading is a course to help students master grade level standards. This course will emphasize reading comprehension, writing, and reading fluency. Throughout the year students will develop skills in the following areas: 

    • Vocabulary/Spelling 
    • Grammar 
    • Comprehension of grade level reading materials 
    • Using evidence from the text to support responses to text-based questions 

    Standards: (Standards located on teacher website). 

    Supplies Needed: 

    • (1) 1 in 3 ring binder 
    • Notebook paper 
    • (1) spiral notebook (any color) 
    • 2 packs of index cards 
    • 1 Box Colored Pencils 
    • Black or blue pens 
    • Pencils 
    • Hi-lighters (any color) 
    • Glue Sticks 

    Wish List: 

    • Kleenex 
    • Hand Sanitizer 
    • Disinfectant Wipes 
    • Markers 
    • Sharpies 
    • Expo Markers 

     

    Students must have supplies by September 4th, 2020. Please contact me if you have any trouble obtaining supplies.  

     

    Class Expectations: 

    1. BE COOPERATIVE: Participate in class discussions and activities.  Listen – not talk – when others are speaking
    2. BE RESPECTFUL: Profane language or purposely hurtful comments or actions will not be tolerated.
    3. BE RESPONSIBLE:Come prepared to class!  Finish all your “snacks” and beverages BEFORE entering the classroom.  Don’t be late.  

    (Bottled drinks are allowed) 

    1. BE SAFE:  Follow all directions, don't throw anything, keep desk and chair legs on the floor. Keep walkways clear.
