Hello Everyone!

My name is Zanita Hendry, but most students and staff call me Ms. Z.  I have been teaching Art at Hillcrest for two years. Prior to my career as an Art teacher, I taught a self-contained VE classroom in our Developmental Unit at Hillcrest for 2 years.  Before becoming an ESE teacher, I was an ESE paraprofessional for 3 years at Hillcrest and 3 years at The Webster School in St. Augustine, Florida.  I have an AA in Education from the College of Central Florida and St. Johns River State College.  I obtained my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a combined focus on Social/Behavioral Science and Education, as well as, a minor in Women's Studies at the University of Central Florida.

Although our Art program is new (2 years), I have had some of the proudest moments of my life while working with your students.  As an ESE teacher, there are times when my job feels impossible, but it is my students' enthusiasm and determination that continue to make the impossible...well...possible! When someone says that one person can't make a difference, they clearly have not been on our campus.  The students at Hillcrest have made a profound difference in my life and my only wish, as an educator, is to return the favor.  I am looking forward to working with all of you so please feel free to reach out to me by email anytime.
