Distance Learning Announcements
Update 8/13: Hello! This is my first update for the 2020-2021 school year. For those of you who are new to my class, welcome! This year is going to be a bit different from years past. My classes will be split between in person and distance learning to start the year. Of course, that may change at any time, depending on COVID-19. Due to this fact, all classes, both online and in person, will be fully digital and will use Microsoft Teams as the main learning platform, with students in class in person using laptops in my classroom. That way, if the county does shut down and go full distance learning, it will hopefully be a seamless transition for everyone involved. More details will be provided as we get closer to the start of the school year.
Update 4/6: Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who has been logging on to Google Classroom the last few days and doing the attendance forms and working on the first few assignments. Please continue complete the assignments and turn them in. If you still need to get on Google Classroom, go through your desktop portal and click on the Google Classroom button and add my class. If you need the class code, I have added them in the "Google Classroom" tab on the left of this page. Find your period and type in the code in Classroom. Remember, if you need anything, send me an email or a message on Google Classroom. Stay safe everyone!
Update 4/1: Hello everyone! We are live! Make sure to check out the attendance policy by clicking on the tab on the left side of the page. Also be sure to check out Google classroom for our first assignment! It's due on Friday, 4/3, so make sure you get it done by then. Also be sure to check out my contact information by clicking on its appropriate tab on the left. Email is still the best way to reach me, but there are options listed there if need be. Welcome back everyone and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Stay safe!
Hello there! I'm Mr. Obara and this is my website. You'll be able to find my syllabus, some notes, and other important information that will help guide you through the school year.
I will be using Microsoft Teams, where you'll find more detailed notes through my videos, as well as all assignments.
The course will review the mathematical skills needed for the study of algebra. Topics include the arithmetic of integers, fractions, decimals, and percents; applications of these arithmetic skills to problems involving measurement, percent, ratio, and proportion; and math study skills. The introduction to algebra consists of operations on signed numbers, algebraic expressions, solving linear equations and an introduction to graphing. It also includes exponents and polynomials, quadratic functions, and data analysis.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime for anything you need!
