    Welcome to my page!

    Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  I am a VE Inclusion Teacher (Support Facilitator) at Fort McCoy.  If I am assigned to work with your child, I will be in contact with you.    I work alongside his or her general education teacher/s to provide academic support.   I have worked with some of your children previously.  As in the spring, we may not know what this school year will bring, but please know that I am here to help advocate for your child and support him/her.

Until the end of last school year, I am sure none of us probably saw a year like this coming.   I know I didn’t!   One positive effect that has come from this time is that we as teachers have been learning about all kinds of things we are able to do with technology, including facilitating instruction and improving communication.  There are some fantastic capabilities out there for connecting with students’ learning preferences and strengths. Without this experience, I don’t believe I would have learned so much about the resources at our fingertips.

Please contact me if needed.  The school phone number is 352-671-6325, and my county extension is 52188.  My email is heather.elomaa@marion.k12.fl.us.  I am also on ClassDojo if your child’s homeroom teacher uses the program and am linked to your child’s general education teacher pages on Microsoft Teams.

I look forward to working together with you to help your child have a successful school year.
