    Greetings Students and Parents

Well, you did it! Today is the last day of your third grade experience. I know that it has been different for you after spring break, but you persevered and did what you needed to do to continue learning. I am so very proud of you! We have our Zoom meeting today at 10:00. Please join us so that we can say good by until August when (hopefully) we will return to the campus for learning. I want to wish you all a great summer. I have been doing a lot of reading and will probably continue throughout the summer. I want to encourage all of you to continue reading. You can use MyOn to find thousands of books to choose from. There is a contest for the summer reading so if you want to win a prize, you can do this by reading the most minutes. I love to read mystery/drama/law topics when i read. Find what you like to read about or the genre that you like to read and just keep reading. Have a great summer! Keep safe and Keep reading! I will see you when we return to the campus.

    Greetings Students and Parents

I hope that you have a great Memorial Day. This is the final full week of school. Next week, Monday, June 1, 2020 is the last day of school. Next week's assignment will be to join the Zoom meeting on Monday at 10:00 AM. This week you have several assignments for reading and math, 1 assignment for science and 1 assignment for social studies. Your Specials this week is PE, check in with your coaches to find your assignments. Don't forget to complete your Iready reading and math lessons, you  must complete 46 minutes in each. I have posted all assignments in the assignment tab. Look at your assignments, write them down so that you can keep track of your assignments. Decide how you will complete your work for this week. Set a goal for the number of assignments you want to complete each day or set a time limit for working on your assignments. Have a great final full week of school. I look forward to seeing each of you on our Zoom meeting on the last day of school, Monday, June 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM. As always, keep safe and keep learning.

    5/4/20

    Greetings Students and Parents

It is hard to believe it is May already. Only 4 more weeks of school remaining for this year. This week you have several assignments for each subject. Math and reading has 3-4 assignments, social studies and science each have one assignment. You must also check in with your Specials teacher. This week your specials is PE. You need to check in with one of your coaches by going to their webpage. Your coaches are Leo Gerace and Jeffery Neal. You only need to check in with one of them and submit your work as they direct you. Please remember to look at the assignment tabl on this page, write down all of your assignments and check them off when you get them completed. Make sure that you manage your time, completing a few assignments each day or setting a time limit each day to work on them. You must also complete 46 minutes of Iready lessons in both Math and Reading.

Don't forget we have a Zoom meeting today, Monday at 10 AM. The link is in the ELA classroom. Just click on the link and you will be able to join the meeting. I wish you all a great week. Keep safe and keep learning.

    4/27/20

    Greetings students and parents

This is week 5 of your distance learning experience. As you may already know, we will be meeting in the distance learning platform for the remainder of this year. I have listed this week's assignments in the assignment tab of this page. Please click on the assignment tab and write down your assignments for the week to ensure that you have them all. Several of you have not completed your Science Stemscopes assignment and your Iready reading and math lessons. Work through the assignments a little each day. My suggestion is to decide how much time each day you will work on the assignments or set a goal to complete a specific number of assignments each day. When you set these types of goals, you are giving yourself an opportunity to complete the assignments to the best of your ability rather than trying to rush to get them done on time.

Next week, I would like to try a Zoom meeting. With a Zoom meeting, we are able to get together at one time to go over the assignments and we are able to interact and see each other. I will provide you with more information later this week on how to access the meeting and the guidelines for participating in the meeting. I am excited about using Zoom and hope that you will participate.

Please remember that I am available for assistance should you have a question. You can reach me through Class DOJO or email or you can call me. If you don't have my cell phone number, just send me a DOJO message and I will provide you with my cell phone number.

I am very proud of the efforts that you are making in this different learning platform. Please keep working hard, keep safe, and keep learning.

    4/20/20

This is week 4 of your distance learning experience. Most of you are doing a wonderful job at completing your assignments and participating in the classwork. I will be finalizing progress report grades for the first 4 weeks of the fourth quarter at the end of this week. It is important for you to complete this week's assignments and then go back to complete any assignments that you have not turned in. I have posted all of this week's assignments in the assignment tab to the left.

Please write down all your assignments for the week. Then determine how long you will work on your classwork each day or set a goal of completing a specific number of assignments each day. Please do not wait until Friday to begin your assignments. You will find that you do much better work when you work a little each day on these, instead of trying to get them done in one afternoon.

Have a wonderful week! I miss you all. Keep safe and keep learning!

    4/13/20

Welcome to Week 3 of your distance learning experience. I want to provide you with some suggestions on how to manage your assignments so that you are not trying to complete everything on Friday. I have posted all your assignments for the week on the assignment page. I recommend you write each one of your assignments down on a piece of paper. Decide how much time you are going to spend on your assignments each day. You may choose to set a time limit or you may choose to set a goal such as completing 3 assignments each day. The choice is yours. When you turn in your assignment, you can check it off as "turned in". Remember, I may return it to you for more information before I grade it; therefore, you have not completed the assignment until you have received a grade from me. When you get a graded assignment returned to you, you can cross that assignment off your list as completed.

Another few things I noticed that occurred last week. Iready minutes are not being met. Please remember to spend 46 minutes completing reading lessons and 46 minutes completing math lesson. Additionally, many of you did not complete the Science assignment. When you log in to your desktop, you need to find the STEMSCOPES icon. You will probably find the STEMSCOPES when you look in the Programs tab at the bottom of your page.

Please remember, I am available through class DOJO or email should you have any questions and/or concerns. I will gladly get back to you either through class DOJO, email, or I will call you.

    Keep safe and keep learning!

    4/5/20

Welcome to week 2 of your distance learning experience. Last week was new to you and to me and I think that we both learned much through the experience. I want to commend all of you for your hard work and diligence in working through the small issues we encountered.

You are being provided all your assignments for the week. Click on the assignment tab to find your assignments for this week April 6 - April 10, 2020. You can decide for yourself how you are going to complete these assignments throughout the week. All assignments are due by 3:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2020.

Please note that some of the classrooms, provide you with an instructional video. Please watch the instructional videos before completing assignments as they provide you with guidance on how to complete the assignments. With the exception of the Science assignment which will be turned in through Stemscopes, all your assignments can be turned in directly through your google classrooms. You simply need to hit the "turn in" button, confirm you want to turn it in and it will be submitted for grading. As I review your assignments, I may ask you to add some more information and return it to you for resubmission. I will grade the assignments when they are completed. So, please return to your classroom to see if I am asking you for more information.

Should you have a question, please contact me through Class DOJO or email me at deborah.buncie@marion.k12.fl.us. I will either call you or respond through DOJO or email.

Have a wonderful week of learning!
