I will be teaching two classes this year. My homeroom will be a traditional class and my second class will be online. I am so excited for this year and all the new things we will learn!

This year in ELA we will dig deeper into the understanding of different types of text utilizing the foundational skills that were taught in previous grades. In Social Studies we will study American History and Government functions. My team teacher this year is Ms Chen for Science and Math. I look forward to seeing all of you and cannot wait to get this year started.

The second quarter:

In the second quarter for ELA, we will studyvocabulary found within a text and the overall structure of informational and literary texts. We use CKLA as our core curriculum to teach these standards. We will begin, in Unit 8, with the informational strand and use the book "Native Americans" for instruction.  Upon completion of Unit 8 we will move into the literaly strand and study poetry.

For Social Studies, we will study the colonization of North America and the American Revolution. We will use Studies Weekly as our main curriculum to achieve the standards.
