We are proud to present our Employees of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year. These employees represent our school and epitomize the qualities all our staff strive toward.
Our Golden Apple Teacher of the year is Ann McLucas – Second Grade Teacher
Ann McLucas East Marion's Second grade teacher, was nominated and then elected by her school peers as exemplifying the highest standards and practices of the teaching profession.
These qualities include demonstrating distinguished instructional classroom practice, professionalism and collegiality, high standards for herself and her students, the ability to create a classroom environment conducive to learning, the ability to reflect on practice, creativity, commitment to students and their learning, and contribution to the wider school community.
Our Golden Apple Rookie Teacher of the Year is Christa Miller - Kindergarten Teacher
East Marion staff voted Christa Miller, as Rookie of the Year in an effort to reward and give public recognition to her outstanding teaching. In order to qualify as a "rookie", a teacher has to have no more than 3 years teaching experience.
Our School Related Employee of the Year is Christina Rock.
Christina is our classroom substitute helping out every day at East Marion Elementary. Christina fills in for our teachers and has done a wonderful job of taking over day-to-day or when classes are in need of a teacher for an extended amount of time, never missing a beat and keeping the students on task with complete control and all the while with a smile on her face, a gentle voice and a positive attitude. Christina is one of our valued employee at East Marion Elementary.
