HOW ARE WE GOING TO "DO" SCHOOL AND WHAT IS EXPECTED?

Communication is key! Remember we are a team!

HOW ARE WE GOING TO "DO" SCHOOL: If you are an on-line student, we will use Microsoft Teams for our learning and insturctional  platform.

We will use the following online platforms to learn, accomplish tasks, and assess:

On Student Desktop/Portal - FL Studies Weekly Science, STEMSCOPES science,  iReady Reading and math, Think Central, MyOn and IXL (most of these resources are available on your student portatl)

     Online -

    https://www.khanacademy.org/

    WHAT IS EXPECTED?

KNOW THAT THESE EXPECTATIONS ARE FOR STUDENTS LEARNING ONLINE AND STUDENTS THAT ARE COMING TO SCHOOL FOR FACE TO FACE INSTRUCTION:

    I expect you to complete...

    • Each WEEK complete 45 minutes on iReady Math AND 45 minutes

    • Each DAY read 20 minutes of either fiction or non-fiction.  Face to face students will have the chance to visit the school library once a week. If you are an online student, you are able to read any of the My-On books that are the appropriate level for you; if you are able, you can also check out books from our local public library.  It is extremely important that you read everyday for at least 20 minutes.  This builds your fluency, improves vocabulary and fortifies your knowledge base!

    • You are expected to be to class on time whether you are an online or face to face student. Online students need to be logged onto the Microsoft Teams Platform and be ready to begin when our first class starts at 12:30 p.m. each day.

    GRADES:

It is important that your work is completed and turned in when it is due.  Your work is a reflection of you, so make a shining example!  We will talk more about grades and specific procedures once we meet for class next week.
