I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Elementary Education and from Barry University with a Masters in Teaching Reading. I was born in Quebec, Canada of French Canadian parents but I have spent most of my life in Florida. I have been teaching in Marion County for 30 years. In my career I have taught fourth grade, third grade, second grade, and kindergarten. Gene Hotaling is my husband and a retired art teacher. We have three adult children and five grandchildren. Our oldest daughter is a teacher in Marion County. Our second child is head of online at Clemson University. Our youngest child is a researcher for the National Institute of Health in Washington D. C.. Kayaking, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family fill the hours when I am not teaching and planning for my classroom.
