I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Elementary Education and from Barry University with a Masters in Teaching Reading.  I was born in Quebec, Canada of French Canadian parents but I have spent most of my life in Florida.  I have been teaching in Marion County for 30 years.  In my career I have taught fourth grade, third grade, second grade, and kindergarten.  Gene Hotaling is my husband and a retired art teacher.  We have three adult children and five grandchildren.  Our oldest daughter is a teacher in Marion County.  Our second child is head of online at Clemson University.  Our youngest child is a researcher for the National Institute of Health in Washington D. C..  Kayaking, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family fill the hours when I am not teaching and planning for my classroom.  You can reach me through E-mail at Helene.Hotaling@marion.k12.fl.us
