Welcome back! I am returning with anticipation of a fun and challanging year here at Howard Middle School. We will all be learning and using Microsoft Teams as a distance learning platform. I enjoy technology and science and hope you will too!  All that you learn this year will help you succeed in high school, health, or other science classes.  Work smarter not harder.....Study now and use what you know again later!  It should help to make other sciences easier for you.  Learn what you need to know now, and experience the long lasting benefits of the knowledge.  Life science is one of the foundations for high school biology success.  Understanding life science can give you much that will benefit you the rest of your life.  Who knows, you may find a passion that leads you to a science related career!

Please always TRY to do your personal BEST!  I expect each of you to complete your own work to the best of your abilities folloowing our Academic Honesty policy.  With good effort, diligence, and a positive attitude, success is sure to come your way!  Come responsibily prepared for class, show genuine effort, and be respectful of yourself, others, and the class, and I'm sure we'll enjoy a great year together! 

Included here you will find the course syllabus, the grading policy, student expectations, materials needed, and classroom/distance learning procedures and rules. Students will be provided unit specific information for reference as we cover each of the different units this year.  This information is to be kept permanently in a Science binder section.  In addition, I encourage students to work in a composition book for specific assignments (such as vocabulary) which will help create general reviews for their quizzes, tests, and final exam. This book will come in handy for the 8th grade cumulative science exam too.  A safety contract with both parental and student signatures and a working emergency contact phone number will also be required for lab participation.  

Please note that this year there will be NO SHARING of supplies so each student needs to be prepared with his own materials.
