Welcome to Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Honors, Math for College Readiness, and AP Physics 1.

Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors are math courses that will guide you through linear equations, inequalities, graphs, matrices, polynomials and radical expressions, quadratic equations, functions, exponential and logarithmic expressions, sequences and series, probability and trigonometry. And yes, you will use all of this sometime in real life.

Math for College Readiness is a math course that will guide you through linear equations and inequalities; graphs; polynomial, radical and exponential expressions; quadratic equations; and functions. We may discuss logarithmic expressions, sequences, series, and probability as well.

AP Physics 1 is the first two AP Physics courses that will guide you through Kinematics, Dynamics, Energy, Momentum, Torque and Rotational Motion, Electric Charge and Electric Force, DC Circuits, and Mechanical Waves and Sound. Physics is the foundational science that all other sciences rely on.

This year we will also be doing work online as well as in class (circumstances permitting), so the class may seem like a hybrid-type of class. Based on FHS’s hybrid schedule you will have approximately: 108 Class periods, 180 School days, 8½ Months and 42 Weeks to look forward to , and 5 National Holidays, 6 Early release Days, 5 Fall Break days, 11 Winter Break days, and 5 Spring Break days between August 10th and May 28th to enjoy. This may sound like a lot of numbers but, hey, these are math and science courses. Right!?

Check out the “Meet the Teacher” page to find out a bit about me. This will be a GREAT year. You will learn a lot. You will work hard. You will have fun. Resistance is futile!

May the force be with you.
