Hello and welcome to HOPE or Outdoor Ed/Rec Activities and Team Sports

  • Hello Students:

     

    I hope all of you are well and taking good care of yourselves. I know you are excited to get back to your school activities, especially your Health and P.E. Classes.  I want you to know that we will do everything we can to keep up with school work.  I am sure you have been keeping up with the updates on the virus.

    i would like for you to check in on my website for updates  I would like to get a summary to let me know what fitness you have been involved in at home  the school district provided a log for you to keep up with your physical activity.

    Students, you need to make sure you reach out to me daily so that I am aware you are completing work.  You will need to take pictures of assignments that have been completed and email them to me.  I am going to reach out to you through Skyward.  Download the Zoom App so we can meet periodically.

     HOPE

    Assignment:  Design an obstacle course using things around your home ( a ladder to run through can be made of rope or tape on the ground, objects to go over or under, lift,etc.):  The minimum number of objects required is 5.  Once you have the course set up, take your resting heart before beginning.  Write it down.   Go through the course at least 10 times, then take your heart rate again. Write the heart rate down again.  Make a video of your homemade obstacle course. If for some reason you can not video, you must draw all of the parts of it.  Write a summary that reports the impact on your heart rate as well as the experience of creating your own obstacle course.  Submit everything to me in an attachment in email, including the summary or use Google Docs for the summary.  The assignment is due April 22, 2020.

    Assignment:  Chapter 13 - Read the powerpoint slides and answer the questions.  Submit answers. The assignment is due May 1, 2020. Click on Assignments for more details.

    Assignment: Read the information on Dating Abuse and write a letter to Adaliz.  Submit the letter in Google Classroom or email it to me. Complete Weekly Activity Log. Due 5/15/20

     Complete Physical Activity Logs weekly and write  an Essay on Individual/Team Sports.  What are the individual reponsibilities? What is the difference in what you have to do to be competitive?  Do your skills and personality effect the choice of which sport to oarticipate in?  Due 5/1/20

    Assignment:  Try a new activity that will help you stay fit.  Video yourself doing the activity.  Describe what muscles you were using in each activity.  Include activities that promote muscular strength, cardio ande flexibility.  Ask a family member or friend to join you.  Write a summary of youfr experience.

    Assignment:  Create a game using 3 different objects (examples are balloons, tennis balls, hoops clothes basket broom toiletpaper, socks, plactic cups, frisbee, football, bucket, mop, etc)  Wwrite the rules and include in the summary how the activity impacted the components of fitness.  What did you learn from the experience.  Document required by video or pictures and the summary. Due 5/15/20 along with the Weekly Activity Log.

    Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).  These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms.  If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
