Environmental Science

  • Environmental Science is a course that will provide students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies that are required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world, to identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, to evaluate the risks associated with these problems, and to examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them. 

    Units students will encounter:

    Science, matter, energy, and systems

    Ecosystem dynamics

    Biodiversity and evolution

    Species interaction, ecological succession, and population control

    Ecosystems and climate 

    Saving species and ecosystem services

    Nonrenewable resources/renewable resources

    Human population and urbanization 

    Environmental hazards and human healthScience
