O'Briant, James A

  •

I am James A O'Briant. I have been here at Horizon for my 12th year and am proud to be a part of this school.

As an experienced educator, I have had the pleasure of teaching from Kindergarten all the way through the college level.

I have been a part of our ESE Academy since 2009 and am always pleased to see our students grow.

I am teaching 6-8 English/Language Arts and 6-8 Social Studies (World History, Civics, and American History).  I am teaching an online Math180 and Plato (Course Recovery) at the building and some students online.

The main goal I have is for my students to do better at reading and talking about what they are learning from their reading with parents/guardians.

If you have any questions in regards to this class communication is welcome via e-mail.

  • Social studies -- do READING Projects for Social Studies.  Do the quizzes after completing the book.  If the book doesn't have a quiz, then you can do a summary paragraph you send to me as an email.  I will need a Title-number of pages and one-paragraph summary that includes Who, What, When, Where, and How.  (Give me at least 3 of those)

    MYON -SOCIAL studies --

6th World History - MYON project books within the folder and complete quizzes on each one. With at least 5 post-it note summaries per book.

7th CIVICS - MYON project books within the folder and complete quizzes on each one. With at least 5 post-it note summaries per book.

8th -US History-  MYON project books within the folder and complete quizzes on each one. With at least 5 post-it note summaries per book.
