My Role in the Inclusion Mathematics Classroom

    ESE Inclusion - Mathematics

My name is Katie Rice. I am the ESE inclusion teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade mathematics at Osceola Middle School. Check out the "Meet the Teacher" tab for more information about my educational and personal backgrounds, as well as my current certifications and endorsements.

As an ESE inclusion teacher for mathematics, I collaborate, plan, and teach with one general education teacher from each grade level in order to ensure that students with exceptionalities are given the best opportunities to participate, learn, and excel in a traditional classroom. This means that I actively participate in my students' education while they are in their mathematics classrooms and I also work "behind the scenes" by reviewing and preparing documents for their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Success doesn't just happen by chance - it's a dynamic system of participation, active communication, and teamwork. I greatly appreciate being part of my students' education and the highly-qualified team of administrators, faculty, and staff here at Osceola Middle School, as well as working with my students' amazing parents/guardians. For questions/concerns about the services that are provided in the inclusion classrooms for students with exceptionalities, please contact me via email at katie.rice2@marion.k12.fl.us or call me at (352)671-7100.
