Welcome all to Mrs. Larson's 3rd grade MCPS online classes.  3rd grade is a critical year for students as they move from primary to upper elementary school.

I realize that this time is very difficult for everyone and I hope you are all staying safe.  This year, or at least this first 9 weeks will look very different.  We will be working online.  Your child/children will be working online, live on camera for whole group instruction.  There will be times that your child will be working off camera on independent work and work on online programs such as those listed below:

5. Stem scopes

It will look very different that what it might have looked like in the spring.  Attendance will be taken for each class period that your child is scheduled to be online.  There will be whole group instruction as well as small group instruction.  Depending on which group your child is in, they may meet for small group instruction for reading on M & W or T and Th, with Friday open for extra help as a student needs.  This will be the same for math.  Your child might need to meet on a different day for small group for math than they do for reading depending on their individual needs.

The school day will run the same hours as inclass which will be 7:40 to 2:50. 

There will be time built into the day for your child to have PE, recess, lunch and music and art.  For PE, music and art, you will need to check the individual teacher's website for their assignments.  

We will be using Microsoft Teams as our learning platform.

Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).  These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms.  If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
