Welcome to Harbour View Elementary, home of the dolphins! I am beyond excited to start the 2020-2021 school year and build impactful relationships with the student and parents in our community. This year I am taking on the challenge of teaching both virtual and MCPS online. I am bubbling with the anticipation as the new school year approaches. I am most excited to help your child meet their full potential, both in their studies and socialization. Together we will face social challenges, tame behavior and mold young minds to be independent thinkers. I am teaming up with Ms. McKathan, one of the sweetest ladies I have had the pleasure of meeting. Together we will spark a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
As a mom I know how important it is to know who is around your child. As your Childs teacher I will spend time with them daily and thought it might be nice if you knew a little bit about me. True to my roots, I am a product of the Marion County School system and attended Harbour View as a child. I graduated from Belleview High in 2006 (Go Rattlers) and decided to pursue teaching at Saint Leo University. I hold my BA in Elementary education K-6 with endorsements in ESOL and Reading. I am sailing into my 9th year of teaching, and still have the same passion as the day I graduated. My teachings style is based on relationships first and I really believe that when you invest time into a child, they WILL learn and move mountains. When I am not at school I spend time with my husband and three children. I enjoy bird watching, hawks and humming birds are my favorite. I also enjoy reading, journaling, and cooking. Coffee is my best friend, and there is nothing like some Dove dark chocolate after a long day at work. On Sunday mornings you will find me at church and Sunday evenings are spent with close friends and family. I am a very organized person filled with tons of love and knowledge. I am looking forwards to an amazing school year, how about you?
