Interlocal Agreement

The Interlocal Agreement is a partnership between Marion County, its municipalities, and the Marion County School Board to ensure that public schools are planned in coordination with community growth and infrastructure. The agreement prevents overcrowding, improves student safety, and ensures that new schools are built where they are needed most.

This agreement requires data sharing, joint planning, and regular meetings between school and government officials. It also facilitates co-location of schools with public spaces like parks and libraries, maximizing public resources.

By ensuring collaboration and transparency, the agreement helps local leaders make informed decisions about school construction, renovations, and closures, keeping up with population growth while maintaining a high-quality education system.
